Why: to provide a safe, Christian environment to meet your child care needs.

Parents Day Out is an Early Childhood program that is offered at North Cross during the week. Our program offers a loving environment for children. We strive to cultivate socialization and provide interesting programs for your child. We are not an accredited school and therefore, we do not have a specific curriculum.

Late Fees: Beginning 5 minutes after closing, families will be charged $2/child for every 5 minutes after the scheduled pick up time.

Drop-off Procedure: Accompany your child into the building. Check in and handle payment at the front desk, then accompany your child to his or her classroom. Check in with the classroom staff and provide any special instructions.

Pick-up Procedure: Check out at the front desk, proceed to your child’s room. Check out with the classroom staff. Don’t forget lunch boxes, coats, diaper bags, etc.

Confidentiality: We have the best interest of your child in mind. Therefore it is important that we know of circumstances within your family life that may be our of the ordinary (i.e. surgery, death, illness, separation, divorce, moving, etc.). By being ware of particular situations, we are more sensitive to your needs and the needs of your child. Any information shared will remain confidential as is detailed in the Right to Privacy Act that serves to protect you.

• Diapers
• Change of clothing
• Sunscreen
• Jacket
• Extra socks

Please label all items with your child’s first name and last initial.

Snacks will be provided. Please let the staff know if your child has any allergies or if you do not want your child to participate.

Your child’s information file must remain current. If someone other than yourself is to pick up your child, we must have that information. A picture I.D. is required before releasing your child to another person.

Our medical policy states that a child must be in good health and current on all immunizations to attend PDO. After being ill, your child must be fever and diarrhea free for 24 hours before returning. Please be aware that a green nasal discharge usually indicates and infection and may warrant early dismissal. PDO staff cannot administer ANY medication.

If your child contracts a contagious disease such as chicken pox, whooping cough, etc. you have an obligation to contact the North Cross Early Childhood Program. Failure to contact us could result in the dismissal of your child from the program.

All staff and the Parent’s Day Our Director are, by law, mandated reporters and are obligated to report any suspected case of abuse or neglect. If such a situation occurs, we will call the Child Abuse Hotline.

*Our program follows the North Kansas City School District schedule. For weather related closings, please follow the NKCSD closing. If the district does not close and you question the weather, please call. We may decide not to open that day. Sometimes we are forced to close due to illness or staff/child ratios. We appreciate your cooperation.
