Wednesday Dinners at the church serve as the main fundraiser for the youth. Dinners run September through May from 5:30-6:15p.m. on Wednesday before Wednesday Youth Nite. We serve family-style meals for $5 per adults and $2.50 per child (under 2 eat free). All ages are welcome. Reservations are encouraged and appreciated.
Youth may arrive as early as 3:00p.m. to assist with cooking, serving, and cleaning. Those working the dinners will earn money for upcoming youth events and the annual summer mission trip.
The youth have been hosting Wednesday evening meals for over 9 years. These meals began as a simple fundraiser for the youth, however they have become so much more. They have become a place for congregation members and visitors to meet new people, renew friendships, share in each other’s lives, and give care and support to each other under the auspices of eating a meal. For some, the dinners are a Wednesday “home away from home” or the place you HAVE to be each week. Yes, the Wednesday dinners are a great youth fundraiser. Last year we served an average of 60 persons each Wednesday, and we earned $4,162.82! That was enough money to pay the full cost of a mission trip for 12 youth. The meals are pretty good too. We try and serve simple but tasty meals such as oven fried chicken, roast and potatoes,
spaghetti, and baked ham.
